Julian Chender

Julian Chender brings a holistic, systems-driven approach to organization design. He helps leaders and their teams create vibrant organizations that accomplish their missions through the strategic alignment of structure, processes, metrics, and people practices. He has worked across industries and sectors, including Financial Services, Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Government, and NGO. Prior to his consulting career, Julian spearheaded leadership development at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease during the most recent Ebola and Zika outbreaks.

Julian is interested in creating knowledge and supporting the fields of Organization Design and Organization Development. He has published four articles in the OD Review, guest lectured at multiple universities, and spoken at global conferences. Julian served on the Board of Trustees for the Organization Development Network, where he created the Emerging Practitioners Program. He also founded the OD Salon, a national learning and networking group for practitioners.

Julian is the recipient of the OD Network’s Emerging Practitioner Award. He earned his Master’s in Organization Development from American University and a Bachelor’s in History and Psychology from Swarthmore College. He lives in New York City where he enjoys its many cultural offerings.
