Leaders of every company struggle with decision rights, defined as the allocation of power and
authority across organizational boundaries. It doesn’t matter the starting point. Highly cooperative cultures report no problem having good discussions, but run into trouble being decisive, making a call, and moving on. At the other end of the continuum, companies with highly autonomous cultures that are trying to build more integrated organizational models find their leaders aren’t adept at engaging partners and working collaboratively.
